History

Collin County Emergency Services District No. 1 (ESD No. 1) was created to support fire protection and emergency medical services for growing communities throughout Collin County. The district was established following a citizen petition in February 2025, with the Collin County Commissioners Court appointing the initial Board of Commissioners in February 2026 to oversee operations, budgeting, and emergency service coordination. Today, the district works with municipalities, emergency service providers, and local partners to enhance public safety and emergency response capabilities across the region.
